I have just spent I don't know how long with my mother-in-law and I have managed to avoid killing her.
She has had a bit of a cold/chesty problem for a fortnight now, and managed to get an appointment with her doctor this morning so I said since I was still off work I'd take her to the surgery and afterwards I'd take her to get her shopping as she hasn't been out of the house since last week.
No she doesn't have swine flu, and if any of us mention it again I think she might swing for us but we can't help but wind her up about it.
She was given stronger anti-biotics as she does have a chest infection, she won't/can't bring up any phelgm and if she could it would help her greatly, I got her a cough bottle with Linctus in it to try and shift it but she isn't taking it blooming woman that she is.
We went to Connswater for her shopping and she spent I dunno how much on clothes for the 2 grandsons, trying to convince her that the boys are growing so fast and if she wants to leave these clothes until Christmas then she'll need to get a bigger size than what they're wearing at the mo was so knackering so fater a couple of tries I just gave up and let her do what she wanted.
She kept throwing lingering glances at the baby clothes and baby things in Peacocks and Dunnes but you learn to ignore those after a while, she won't give up dropping hints they are as subtle as a brick through your window!
Left her off at home with her shopping about an hour ago and I'm shattered now, it takes a lot out of you shopping with your mother-in-law especially when she keeps getting you to check every item in Tesco for the sugar content when it's the fat content she should be most worried about. She bought some stuff today that she should avoid like mad but there's no telling her. Oh well.
that's good
