One of our cats has taken to not using the litter tray. The litter tray is probably one of the cleanest things in our house so it can't be because it's not cleaned enough or something like that.
This is the cat who adores plastic bags and sleeps in one now and again, she's started to pee in the plastic bags, she's peed on my school bag that we keep the laptop in (thankfully laptop wasn't in it at the time) and she's even peed on the floor beside the litter tray and there's no way we can say she just missed, she was nowhere near it!
Pee we can deal with, it's easy cleaned up and other than the smell which can be gotten rid of too that's not much of a problem because it's just now and again we've noticed. It's what she didn't do in her litter tray last night that's got us worried, she used beside it and then sat at the door and waited until we noticed. Normally if she does this she will do it when we're out of the house, but we were both in last night, and that's a 1st for her while we're there.
She's only a couple of years old so she's not old enough to excuse it as bladder problems, and we haven't changed her routine or put something in the house that she doesn't like, our house is quite cat friendly.
I dunno. Have asked my mummy about it as we've had cats for as long as she can remember and she can't think of any reasons why the cat is acting like this. Suppose we'll end up taking her to the vet for a check-up but if it's not a physical problem what are we going to do!! Don't want to get rid of her, she was our 1st cat along with her sister who unfortunately died over a year ago and we love her, we don't want to see her go.
Any advice?
