  • Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell

This is the title of the book I started whilst on holiday. I had bought it a couple of months back but didn't touch it once I received it and boy do I wish I did because the 1st 20 pages were missing from it! I was devastated because my friend had raved about it so much and I was really looking forward to reading it myself but couldn't at the time because I had too much on. Thank goodness for WHSmith in the airport though, they had a copy so I bought it, didn't even think twice about it!

I was expecting a grown up version of Harry Potter, but it's completely not like that at all. It's all very historical, which I love, very detailed but not overly so, and very easy to read.

Will be doing some reading once I get into the house tonight I think, being in work isn't good when you're in the middle of a book you're really enjoying!

  • Our possible new house?

Well it looks like we might be moving into it at the start of September. Everyone is just taking it as a given that we're moving in without actually looking at it yet, something which we're hoping to do the start of next week. We were meant to be looking at it this weekend but hubbie is having to work all weekend and I wouldn't feel comfortable looking at it without him being there.

Fingers crossed it's a place that we'll be able to live in for a bit without any of the problems like we've had before!

  • Hubbie thinks the house is infested so..

...at the mo we're staying at mummy-in-law's (they are still on holiday so got the house to ourselves).

There were a couple of small flies about the house and they landed on him so he's decided that the whole house is infested with all sorts of bugs an has got the time bomby thingys from the pet shop that gets rid of everything, we can't be in the house when they're going off though it's only for a couple of hours he's decided it must be for a couple of days.

I don't think we're infested. If we were there'd be loads of these things he's seen not just a couple. I think he's just wanting an excuse to clear the whole place out and this is how he's doing it. We're only going to be there another couple of weeks so what he's doing is a bit extreme but I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry with this sort of thing.

Cat's won't be amused when they get back home though because their hiding spots have been completely messed about.

  • End of the working day....

and boy am I glad to see it.

It's been a rough day trying to get rid of people trying to chase me for money and answers when I'm only back in the office after being off, why won't they leave me alone!!!!!

Not a good day at all and now my tummy is rumbling and have to wait until hubbie gets home before I can cook something because he's bringing the shopping with him. Until then the biscuit cupboard is looking good.

  • Like I've never been away

1st day back to work and it's like I've never been gone.

    Don't you hate that feeling!

  • I'm home again

Had a brilliant time away, lots of sun (too much, everyone we were with, myself included, got a bit sunburnt regardless of how much sun block we put on).

Will talk more about it later when I have time.
